This is what Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi think about MLS
Here we give you the opinions of the two GOAT on Major League Soccer
Major League Soccer, simply known as MLS, is America’s first division football league and it has become quite popular even throughout Europe. But European fans do not want their ‘football’ to be called ‘football’, as they somehow hate that word.
When we let this debate lie, we are here to talk about two of the greatest footballers who have ever lived. Let us know straight away about the statements made by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi about MLS.
In 2016, Ronaldo was asked by GQ about his views and opinions on playing in the MLS. This is what he said:
“I know a lot of players are moving there. I think it’s getting better and better. It’s growing. I think it is good. It’s good for me and young players that we might one day move there. So it’s good that football …‘football’– grows there. “
“I mean, what’s going on there is great, it’s great – maybe in the future it’s going to be a good chance for me to play there. You never know, but it’s something interesting. I’m considering it, of course, because as I “I said football has gotten better and better, so why not? I think this might be possible.”
In 2020, Messi said in an interview with La Sextas Jordi Evole:
“I’ve always had the dream of being able to enjoy and have the experience of living in the United States, experiencing what the league is like, but not yet.”
We all want these two to end their careers on the highest note. But let’s consider the possibility that they are playing in MLS, of course not now or in the near future, maybe about three or four years later.
Having achieved, broken and created every possible record in their career, if they decide that MLS could be their final destination, then the possible results of it would be as follows:
- They will be a revolution in American football / soccer, not to mention the popularity will increase rapidly.
- We would have a chance to see the biggest rivalry in football history for the last time.
- Most importantly, we would have a chance to see them play in the 2026 World Cup, as it mainly hosts the United States.
