Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a lifelong United fan has been linked with an attempt to buy if the Glazers decide to sell. Despite the turmoil, the possibility of a sale seems to have been thrown out the window now. Although the Glazers stated they would be open to listening to offers above £9bn.

It’s a fairly unlikely scenario considering the club is currently valued at under £3 billion. To put it more clearly, potential buyer Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s current estimated net worth is around £9.2 billion. It pretty much gives us a clear scenario that the Glazers have no intention of selling Manchester United.

“Manchester United is owned by the Glazer family, who I have met. I met Joel and Avram and they are the nicest people. They are proper gentlemen and they will not sell it (United). It’s owned by the father’s six children and they don’t want to sell,” Ratcliffe told reporters.

Manchester United is currently wholly owned by the Glazer family under the name Manchester United PLC, with Joel and Avram Glazer as co-chairmen. The Red Devils have not won the Premier League since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013 and last won silverware in 2017.
