The RFEF congratulated the Asturian for his efforts and acknowledged that a “new idea” was required to move Spain’s side forward. They have yet to announce a sequel.

Spain’s poor campaign in Qatar will be seen as a failure, especially as they won their first group game 7-0 against Costa Rica.
