Here we show you the squad that Germany announced for the upcoming FIFA World Cup

The 2022 FIFA World Cup starts from November 20 and the coaches have started to announce their national team squad.

Germany’s head coach Hansi Flick has named their official squad for the tournament. His 26-man squad surprisingly includes six forwards, indicating a clear mindset of a high-pressing and attacking strategy.

Germany’s World Cup squad

  • Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich)
  • Marc-Andre ter Stegen (Barcelona)
  • Kevin Trapp (Eintracht Frankfurt)

  • Matthias Ginter (Freiburg)
  • Antonio Rudiger (Real Madrid)
  • Niklas Sule (Borussia Dortmund)
  • Nico Schlotterbeck (Borussia Dortmund)
  • Thilo Kehrer (West Ham United)
  • David Raum (RB Leipzig)
  • Lukas Klostermann (RB Leipzig)
  • Armel Bella-Kotchap (Southampton)
  • Christian Gunter (Freiburg)

  • Ilkay Gundogan (Manchester City)
  • Jonas Hofmann (Borussia Monchengladbach)
  • Leon Goretzka (Bayern Munich)
  • Serge Gnabry (Bayern Munich)
  • Leroy Sane (Bayern Munich)
  • Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich)
  • Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich)
  • Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich)
  • Julian Brandt (Borussia Dortmund)

  • Kai Havertz (Chelsea)
  • Youssoufa Moukoko (Borussia Dortmund)
  • Niklas Fullkrug (Werder Bremen)
  • Karim Adeyemi (Borussia Dortmund)

Mario Gotze was the guy who scored the winning goal for Germany in the 2014 World Cup final against Argentina. He has made a comeback to the national team after returning to the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt this season.

“Mario Gotze is there. 2017 was the last time. Mario is absolutely happy and so are we to have him. It gives us many opportunities,” Flick told in an interview.

Marco Reus had already missed the World Cup in 2014 and now he is injured again. It is sad to announce that he will not be going to Qatar to play for Germany.

“He tried everything to reach this train. It hurts us because we could have used his quality,” said Flick.

Germany’s best starting XI

Leory Sane and Serge Gnabry – Germany have got two of the best wingers in the world, not to mention one of the fastest duos of the generation. They are going to cause problems for the wing backs in the upcoming tournament.

Kai Havertz – Chelsea’s striker is given the responsibility of scoring goals in the World Cup for Germany. Let us tell you that he was one of the players who won the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League title.

Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka – Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich is undoubtedly one of the best midfielders of this generation. Furthermore, he will have the support of another great player, Leon Goretzka.

Jamal Musiala – The youngster has shown his worth in the Bundesliga. He will certainly be an option for Hansi Flick’s ‘yet to be announced’ German squad.

David Raum and Jonas Hoffmann – You may not have heard of these two, but they are going to play a very important role for Germany after two months.

Nico Schlotterbeck and Antonio Rudiger – Real Madrid’s Antonio Rudiger won his first Champions League title in the 2020/21 season with Chelsea. I don’t know how Chelsea could let him go so easily. He will have Schlotterbeck by his side to support the defense.

Manuel Neuer – What to say about him? He is arguably the best goalkeeper in football history, or at least that’s what most football fans think.
