“Of course it’s strange. This is not exactly the time we want to play in the World Cup.’ Bruno said while talking about the World Cup. He further added, “For fans and players, kids will be in school and people will be working. The timing won’t be the best for people to watch games.’

We are already seeing the effects of the World Cup, with the entire football calendar being moved around to accommodate this one event. Add to that the fact that several players have been injured due to the hectic schedule in the first half of the season, and footballers are bound to be unhappy.

He went on to say, ‘This kind of thing should not happen at any time, but for a World Cup, which is a celebration for fans, players and something that is a joy, it has to be done in a better way.’

As the Qatar World Cup inches closer, more players and officials are expected to shout out to FIFA. It has already been called bizarre to have an unorthodox World Cup at the end of the year in Qatar.
