Qatar’s team

Football as a sport is still developing in the Middle East and therefore has yet to reach its potential, but Qatar has shown glimpses of what it can be capable of. They have some veterans in their squad who have crossed 100 caps and have experience under their belts. Although most of their players ply their domestic trade in Qatar, they have achieved good results and also triumphed in 2019 by winning the Asian Cup for the first time. The Qataris will surely believe they can cause an upset in Group A.

Qatar Team News

Qatar don’t boast a squad full of superstars like France, but they have a decent list of names. The star for them would be their skipper, Hassan Al-Haydos, with 165 caps to his name. He will lead the attack and will hope to score when it matters most.

Karim Boudiaf, their lynchpin in midfield with over 100 caps will also be instrumental for the hosts. Abdelkarim Hassan and Boualem Khoukhi will also be in charge of their defence. Saad Al Sheeb will ensure that no one manages to break his goal. The team should be built around these players to ensure the hosts have a chance to get out of Group-A.
