FIFA World Cup: Mike Maignan Injury: AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan has had a relapse of his pre-existing calf injury. This is the second injury blow for the reigning world champions after midfielder N’Golo Kante. The goalkeeper injured his left calf during international duty with the French national team last month. He was due to make his comeback with AC Milan this week. However, the club has reported the recurrence of the injury and expects him to be out for at least 10 more days. Mike Maignan has been struggling with a calf injury for a while. With his terrific form in Serie A, the goalkeeper is expected to be the backup for Hugo Lloris. The 27-year-old was set to return to the Rossoneri this week against Monza. However, the medical injury will keep him out of action. He is not expected to be available until early next year.

Didier Deschamps will keep a close eye on how his injury develops. The Serie A side have announced him out of the squad for a further 10 days. His injury will then be reassessed. Italian sports magazine Gazzetta Dello Sport have reported that the player is set to miss the World Cup. However, there is no official announcement from the club or the player.
