A Danish TV team led by Rasmus Tantholdt, reporting on the World Cup in Qatar, was interrupted by security personnel and threatened that their camera would be destroyed. Reason? The officials believed that they did not have permission to shoot. Rasmus was slightly agitated and was heard to say: ‘You invited the whole world to come here, why can’t we film? It is a public place’.
We now received an apology from the Qatar International Media Office and from Qatar’s Supreme Committee.

In another incident, an Argentine television reporter ROBBED on her first day of the tournament. Dominique Metzger was doing a live show when the robbery happened and several items from her handbag were stolen. Her experience with the police amazed her when they told her that the thief would be caught using high-tech cameras and they could find him. They asked her what course of action she would take, “What justice do you want? What sentence do you want us to give him? Do you want him sentenced to five years in prison? Do you want him deported?”
